Everything began, when National Football Association announced the names of assistant referees. Sidiropoulos was already appointed, since he is believed to be the best –at the time being- Greek international referee. Aek and Kontonis demanded that the referee must have the exact assistants that he has at the international games and said that, that was also agreed. EPO, on the other hand, said the opposite and it was the truth, since it was mentioned at the papers, internet only the name of the referee and not the exact appointed assistants.
It was decided that it was upon EPO to choose them. Of course the “Goebbelism” that has become second nature for the majority of the so called neutral athletic newspapers and internet sites, they put down those articles and went with what the minister was saying.
But this was the simple cause at the hands, not of Kontonis, but those of aek and her secret owner and convicted smuggler Melissanidis so as not to play at the final. Melissanidis has this government practically at his pocket.
Owner of a small fraction of OPAP (the biggest national gambling company of southeast Europe) by giving almost nothing. Public contracts, laws written, only to serve in favor of his purposes but the biggest scandal is what they try to do with the stadium, giving me public land for solely private purposes. Not to mention that he won’t pay a cent.
Already the attica government will give him 40 million euros for the construction. He doesn’t want the final to take place because he is afraid that a big loss might shed light at the fact for 3 years now hasn’t paid a penny for his team. Not to mention that he uses all that fuss to try and sink EPO and create a new “muppet one” like the ones in the 80’s and 90’s (the so called “stone” years when Olympiacos had only one championship in 13 years).
For the first time in a western country we would have had a cup final with closed doors and despite that fact Kontonis decided to annul it, in fear of episodes.Like a Caesar ordered the final to take place in 10 days. EPO decided to take place on Sunday. At the beginning he said that it cannot take place on Sunday the 15th, because it’s only 8 days after the cancelation (go figure). Since he knows that he cannot find another way to cancel it (like using the incapability of the police...) without showing that he intervenes with EPO against FIFA rules, and immediately forcing a grexit upon us he has started to ask ridiculous demands (foreign referees, invite school pupils), that need days to be organized.
On the other hand, we have superleagues’ playoffs that must end until the end of May, and you can’t have football teams to play every 2 days! And the demand of those teams (including aek at the beginning) that the final must take place at the end of play off on June 2nd! While Olympiacos will be inactive for a whole month, his players wont have any holidays (Kasami & Durmaz must be with their national team by the start of the third fortnight of May, and they have to start prepare with Olympiacos immediately after their finish at euro).
All in a nutshell, we are in a shitty situation, all because of a puppet minister, who said after his inauguration that not only he is fan of Poa but also a huge enemy of Οlympiacos.
